Charles Carroll Hodges (1830-1901) is a listed Michigan artist. For all you art history buffs, Charles Hodges was the co-founder of the Detroit WaterColor Society in 1883 with Geri Melchers and was one of the first presidents . See Gerdts book "Art Across America" His favorite medium is watercolor and his paintings are rare and hard to come by. This is a wonderful impressionist landscape of a cabin on a wetlands/pond. It is signed "CCHodges "in the lower right. The painting is in good condition with very little fading. Frame is in good condition and suits the painting. The painting is 18 by 12 inches, with frame it is 21 by 15.inches. This is a no reserve auction . this painting would be great for a Michigan art collector.This is a no reserve auction.
