General info: Published by Heron Books in1970 to celebrate 100 years after the death of Dickens, this was a superbcomplete set of Charles Dickens Works. The Charles Dickens Complete Works set came in the Standard Green Faux Leather Edition and the De-Luxe Burgundy Leather Edition. This Set, is the Red Faux Leather ( Kidron) Edition, which appears to be hard to find. These books show all the same characteristics as the green set. They are still in their original boxes and have never been touched or used before (only taken out for this occasion to take the pictures). NO cracked cover, NO fading, NO wiped off gilt lettering. A few books have gold specks on the cover, that's how they came, no cleaning has been done. The shipping boxes they came in, have the dates of shipment from 1978- 1979. These books have been sitting inside storage for years. THESE BOOKS ARE BRAND NEW! The novels are illustrated by a mixture of the brilliant work of the original illustrators – Phiz, Tenniel, Cruikshank etc. and some modern contemporary illustrators.
