Letter written and signed by Charles Gounod. No date. See photo of the translation by a French woman at the shop w I had it framed about 20 years ago. It was impossible to get a good scan through the glass, and if requested by an interested bidder, I could remove the letter from the frame and try scanning it that way. The letter looks much better than the scan, but not bright and vivid. The ink appears to be medium-brown in color on blue note paper. Any attempt to increase the contrast of the photo turns the paper bright blue. This has been in my family for many decades--part of a large collection--and I am certain of its authenticity, but buyer may return it for a full refund if not convinced.
