WELCOME FRIENDS ! Fresh from a Bel Air Estate Frame: 27 1/2" (Height) x 38 1/4" (Width) x 1" (Depth) Viewable Image: 23 1/2" (Height) x 35 1/2" (Width) This is a wonderful painting by American Artist Charles C. Gruppe. This is a lovely oil on canvas, might be an acrylic, as he also works in acrylic, but I really am leaning more towards that it is an oil. Signed lower right in a silver and gold gilt colored frame. Painting is in excellent condition, frame has a few surface scratches but is overall in good condition with some wear. His bio from his website" Charles C. Gruppé comes from one of America's most respected families of artists. His grandfather, Charles Paul Gruppé (1860-1940), studied and painted in Europe until moving to Rochester, New York. His uncles, sculptor Karl (1893-1982) and painter Emile (1896-1978) were successful and widely recognized for their work. Charles's father Paulo Gruppé was a gifted cellist.Charles Gruppé studied at Yale University and at Columbia, as well as at the National University of Mexico. He earned a Masters of Fine Art from Columbia University while on a fellowship there. He was also awarded a Fulbright Fellowship Grant and studied in Italy where he received an Italian Government Award. His work is collected worldwide."
