Charles Lotton early Deep Blue Heart and Vine Art Glass Vase This is an early example of Charles Lotton art glass. Some day these pieces will be important examples, even though they may not be as attractive as his later pieces. This is dated 1972 and is signed. The color is a very deep blue that is almost black in reflected light and has a blue/purple heart and vine design that doesn't stand out much from the background. The surface is textured with a lot of fine bubbles...I'm not certain if that was intended or not, I do have a couple of pieces that are of a slightly later date that were definitely intended to have that surface, so it's quite possible. It's a very interesting vase and it measures 9" tall, 3" wide. Condition is perfect with no damage or wear other than a few insignificant base scratches.
