eBay's largest sellers use AuctionLynxx to increase sales... shouldn't you? ~ CHARLESTOWN 6 GALLON CROCK w/BLUE COBALT TRIPLE TULIP DECORATION ~ ~ No Reserve Auction ~ A huge piece of antique stoneware is offered in this fabulous auction! This big old 6 gallon crock from Charlestown, Mass dates to the mid 1800s. Deeply stamped CHARLESTOWN with an old fashioned "6" underneath. Both markings are highlighted with blue cobalt. Below that is the extravagant floral decoration... Covering the entire front of the piece are three large tulips are done in blue cobalt with stems, leaves and a leafy bed. Truly a spectacular decoration! Condition: Overall condition is good. T is some frying to the cobalt decoration. This occurs when the crock is left in the kiln a bit too long and the cobalt overheats and bubbles. T are five small chips on the inside of the top rim 1/4" in size or smaller. Three tight hairlines on the front and left side by the handle. A couple of tight hairlines on the back. At the base on the back t is a larger hairline that runs along the bottom. One chip on one elephant ear handle, other is perfect! Please see pictures for further detail. The crock is structurally sound and displays beautifully. Dimensions: 14" high with a 13 1/2" base. Top rim diameter 13 1/2". Weight: 21lbs Shipping is charged according to weight, and this is a heavy crock. I pack em to arrive safely in one piece. I guarantee your satisfaction!
