Charlie McCarthy Cardboard Ventriloquist Dummy - Chase and Sanborn Coffee 1938 Click image to see big picture. DESCRIPTION: Excellent Condition. Small crease at corner of the mouth. No tears or tape. The mouth and eyes work well. Legs fold at hips and knees to allow dummy to sit down. I believe this was a Chase & Sanborn advertising promo in 1938. It is about 21" long. It is marked "LITHO IN U.S.A." at the hip fold, "Charlie McCarthy" on the card on his hat and "PATENT APPLIED FOR / KETTERLINUS, PHILA AND N.Y.". GRADING DEFINITIONS: Grading description in regard to appearance. Any known missing parts are noted or shown in photos in Very Good and above grading when describing the piece. MINT: Absolutely unmarred, all-original and unused, in original box. 100% Complete. LIKE NEW: Free of any blemishes, original condition throughout, very little sign of use. EXCELLENT: Minute nicks, exceptionally clean, no dents, some sign of use. VERY GOOD: Few scratches, small dents, "played with" condition. All parts intact unless noted. GOOD: Scratches, small dents, some rust, dirty/dusty, to be cleaned. May have minor missing pieces or broken parts. FAIR: Well scratched, chipped, dented.
