This listing is for a Crown Ducal vase designed by Charlotte Rhead. Although there are no Crown Ducal marks to the base I have found the pattern and shape recorded ( www.rhead-crownducal). The pattern is 4298 'Orange Chain' and the shape is 148 which is recorded on the base. It is also signed on the base. The pattern is dated to 1935 so although the orange & brown earthy colours are typical of the 1970s Charlotte Rhead got there first! Approx 6 1/2 inches high, and 6 inches wide at the neck. I wish I could say that the vase is in perfect condition. Sadly it has met with an accident at some time in it's life. I certainly don't remember it (not guilty!) One of the handles has been knocked off and re-glued by my father, probably using some ancient type of glue. It could certainly be re-done and with a modern ceramic glue the repair could be much improved. For collector's prepared for some restoration or someone who would just like their first piece of Charlotte Rhead or just love the 1930s retro period I think the vase would fit the bill.
