This is such a nice little bit of history and a charming oddity! A single very early Navajo squash blossom that was given as a gift sometime in the early part of the Twentieth Century. It still has the gift card with it - the red ribbon that once attached it to the squash blossom has disintegrated from age, but I kept the two together. The note says on one side "Navajo corn flower made from Mexican silver coin, by hand, and worn on necklaces. Wilbur bought it - up on the Reservation". The reverse side of the card reads "Merry Christmas and much love Kate". The handwriting is in an old style, and the blossom is crafted in an early style. It is very heavily oxidized. This item came from a Newton, Massachusetts estate. The blossom itself is 1 1/4 inches long.
