* * * FROM MY PERSONAL COLLECTION * * * This exquisite, little Chocolate Glass Compote, or Comport (take your pick) goes by the pattern name of Melrose. Although listed and pictured in all of the Greentown Glass reference books, this particular item was NOT produced by the Indiana Tumbler & Goblet Company of Greentown, Indiana. Rather, it is generally attributed to the Royal Glass Company, and was manufactured circa, 1902-1905. This lovely, scalloped-edge compote stands 5" tall and is 5 3/4" in diameter across the top rim. With its handsomely-decorated stem work and stunning, "red-agate" delicate foot, this offering makes quite a colorful statement, indeed. Such open compotes in the Melrose Line have very attractive design elements, good strong color, and are very popular items among many Chocolate Glass enthusiasts. T are no cracks, chips, scratches, or other defects of any kind. This example is in just absolutely, gorgeous condition, and you may purchase with complete confidence. What an exciting addition this very representative item will make to your growing collection of beautiful Chocolate Glass!
