Charming Victorian 10k Gold Pearl & Onyx / Glass Mourning Pin / Brooch Presented is a charming Victorian 10 karat gold, pearl and onyx/black glass brooch. This piece dates to around 1840-1870, and was likely made in America. The pin is done in the Victorian mourning jewelry style, but the combination of black, gold, and pearl is classy and attractive enough to be worn for any occasion. The pin is done in an oval form with three dangles beneath, giving it a nice sense of motion when worn. The center has five natural seed pearls, contrasting beautifully with the black diamond and bar shapes and the gold beading. The pin has an old C style clasp. A jeweler could easily add a bail to this piece, converting it to a pendant. The pin is in great condition. The onyx/black glass pieces have no chips. There are no breaks and no repairs. The pin is not stamped or hallmarked, but we have tested it with nitric acid and guarantee it to be 10 karat gold. The pin is about 2 5/8 inches long and about 1 1/2 inches wide. The pin weighs 11.1 grams.-jm Good luck and .
