The charters and general laws of the colony and province of Massachusetts bay. Carefully collected from the publick records and ancient printed books. To which is added AN Appendix, tending to explain the spirit, progress and history of the Juris-prudence of the state; especially in a moral and political view. Published by order of the general court. Boston; printed and published by T. B. Wait and Co.,1814. The charter of the colony of Massachusetts Bay,1628. Is in the beginning of the book. There is 868 pages in the book. The last few pages are loose, and both front and back covers are unattached. There is some foxing and some water stains in the book. Part of th back book binding is gone, which makes the title of the book unreadable. There is a lot in this book, like the laws against adultery and polygamy. The orderly consummating of marriage made and passed in the fourth year of their late Majesties King William and Queen Mary. A act relating to mulatto and negro slaves. Also, a act against diminishing or counterfeiting money. This book is good for hours of educational reading. This book was put together by the Honourable Nathan Dane, William Prescott, and Joseph Story, Esquires.
