Original design for christmas card" original ink drawing/cartoon c1950, unframed on paper - image measures c 10" x 6.5" on paper measuring 12.5" x 9.75"- signed by the artist and included also in the sale- the card as printed in red and black- see photos. Roger Wood was a well established London Photographer from the 1950s- most years he produced a christmas card with commissioned drawing supplied by a well established Illustrator/Cartoonist or Artist, I will be listing a number of original cartoons/drawings for christmas cards. NO RESERVE AUCTION, £10 START, BID CONFIDENTLY. Chaval (French, Born 1915) Born in Bordeaux in 1915- Chaval's name was Yvan Francis Lelouarn. He studied at kunstakaademie in Bordeaux and the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. From 1946 he regularly illustrated "Paris Match", "Le Figaro", "Le Rire", "Punch" and many books by Swift, Kastner and Queneau amongst others. (Original illustration. Illustrator. Illustration.
