I am selling this collector's item for Marc Benno, formerly with the Doors, Leon Russell, Eric Clapton, etc. On June 23, 1973 Marc Benno and The Nightcrawlers were rehearsing for their upcoming tour with J. Geils and Humble Pie featuring Peter Frampton. Marc's wife wrote this check to Stevie as a per diem and the endorsement shows that he deposited $30 and took $70 cash. He was supposed to deposit all of it to pay his phone bill but must have used it for "more important things". Notice that the check was made prior to the time Stevie began using the name Stevie Ray Vaughan.I have sold other vintage music/SRV-related items for Marc and others will follow.This is an important collector's item. Note: the check is intact. The bank numbers and SRV's SS and Selective service numbers were edited out of the photos for obvious reasons.
