GLAZIER STOVE COMPANY, Chelsea, Michigan , real photo postcard by unidentified photographer, ca. 1907. This handsome, detailed real photo postcard shows part of the Glazier Stove Company manufacturing complex in Chelsea, Michigan MI , with the landmark Clock Tower in the final stages of construction. Scaffolding surrounds the top of the 135-foot tower, and lumber and construction materials are stacked near a boxcar parked outside the building. The clocks have not yet been added to the tower. There is also a small, one-story building between the Clock Tower Building and the ornate Welfare Building to the right - possibly a temporary construction office? Contract is a little soft on this real photo postcard but the details are clearly visible. Chelsea is in Washtenaw County . Postally unused, divided back, 3 3/8" x 5 3/8". VELOX stamp box (diamonds) dates postcard to 1907-1917. Condition Excellent condition with light corner and edge wear. Soft contrast as noted above.Please e-mail () with questions before placing bid.
