Authentic Maritime presents a terrific CHELSEA 8 day SHIP'S BELL Clock & Barometer. * ONE YEAR WARRANTY, NO RESERVE * The pictures (all taken in natural daylight) speak for themselves! This is an AUTHENTIC 3-3/4" dial (7-1/2" across the spokes) CHELSEA 8-day, SHIP'S BELL clock and Barometer/Thermometer. This is a rare CLAREMONT model (No longer made). It runs for over 12 days. This SOLID BRASS Vintage Set was made by Chelsea in Boston in 1976 (stamped on the movement is 768838). The clock has been serviced and keeps excellent time. Full ONE year warranty . The clock begins ticking within two turns of the key after being fully run down. This is the nicest Claremont I have seen. Copper base had a tag but no holes were drilled and no engraving done. Slight lacquer loss on top of cases. Both hinged bezels close fully and flawlessly. The original silvered over BRASS dials are in mint condition. Strikes ship's bells CORRECTLY at exact hour and half-hour. Beautiful tone! On/Off Bell Lever for silencing ship's bells. SERVICABLE/ADJUSTABLE Platform . The SOLID BRASS Chelsea cases are very sturdy and in unrestored condition as seen in the photos. The glasses are perfect. Holosteric Barometer is accurate as is Thermometer. This is one of the last Claremonts to come with the combination. Note: 3-3/4" Dial Mariners (similar to the left half of Claremont) are selling for $1100 or more here on ebay (item 270720230994). Comes with ORIGINAL Chelsea Winding Key (as shown). An excellent timekeeper. (Make sure you get a fully serviced clock here on ebay! Repairs for these clocks at the factory typically run well in excess of $600. It's better to buy the best one you can afford instead of trying to "fix up" a broken one. A mechanical clock that doesn't keep accurate time isn't very useful!) Chelsea clocks are still made in Boston, and remain THE STANDARD in mechanical clocks. Many Chelseas are still running perfectly after 100 years! They are "The TIMEKEEPERS of the SEA!" Great for the collector or your first Chelsea.
