Very Rare Winchester M1 Carbine stock – Cherry WoodDuring the war several companies were experimenting with different species of wood other than walnut in the event there would be a walnut shortage. This cherry stock is one of those and seems to be rarer than cherry stocks made by other companies like Rock Ola and etc. It has a tone and grain pattern much different than walnut and is very distinct. I believe the stock is an original low wood not a modified high wood to low wood. Stock displays Winchester characteristics with: a W in the sling well, angle opening in the sling well, cross canon stamp on right side of stock and flat profile forestock. There are no repairs, rebuild markings or numbers on the stock. Stock has some light dings and dents, there are a few small chips missing on the lefttside at the buttplate and at the rear and bottom of the slingwell opening. Keep in mind this is stock is over 60 years old and was used by USGI’s. Also included is a close matching four rivet handgaurd unmarked (not cherry). Stock comes with “W” marked recoil plate, XX recoil plate screw, band spring, and butt plate. I have described this to the best of my knowledge, if you have any questions please ask before bidding. No international shipping.
