This is an authentic letter from RCA Victor where Chet Atkins was the musical director in charge of specialty music and repertoire. It is addressed to Marty Martin, who later changed his name to Boxcar Willie. Boxcar Willie was in the US Air Force at the time and on his days off ,he performed different venues and solicited his music to different labels. Sometime in july of 1960, he sent his tapes off to RCA, where Chet Atkins was the overseer.Unfortunatly , Mr. Atkins could not see the potential that lay in front him.The letter is an RCA Eagle-A Acceptance Bond , fully intact as Boxcar Willie never got rid of it.The autograph is in blue ink and authentic and comes with a notorized letter of Authenticity. The letter states: Dear Mr. Martin: The material you submitted has been reviewed and I am very sorry to report to you that ther is no way we can fit it into our recording program, so I am returing it top you. Please do not construe this as a reflection on your material and I thank you for your interest in our company. Signed Sincerely, Chet Atkins. WOW! After a career that spanded 20 plus years and as the 60th member of the Grand Old Opry with 4 Platinum records and 14 Gold records as the Worlds Favorite Hobo I'd say that was a slight oversight by Chet and RCA.
