CHEVALIER JACKSON Signed Art Print AMERICAN PHYSICIAN This is your chance to own a beautiful and extremely uncommon original signed print titled Afterglow by Chevalier Jackson âe" a famous American Physician noted for his pioneering work in the area of tracheotomy and esophagus. At the time of his death in 1958 the American Medical Association called him " One of the greatest, if not the greatest laryngologists of all time. " The print, in its original frame, is boldly signed by Jackson (in Pencil) below the print. The print was originally framed by M.W. Forsyth Company of Philadelphia. Chevalier Jackson (November 4, 1865 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - August 16, 1958 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) went to school at the Western University of Pennsylvania (now the University of Pittsburgh) from 1879 to 1883, and received his MD from Jefferson Medical College. He also studied laryngology in England. His work reduced the risks involved in a tracheotomy. He essentially invented the modern science of endoscopy of the upper airway and esophagus, using hollow tubes with illumination (esophagoscopes and bronchoscopes).
