Don't miss out on this original , antique beaded Knife sheath and 19th century knife. This was used and not made for trade. The sheath, measures 12 1/2 in with the drop and 8 in of the body. It is all sinew sewn and has great old red trade cloth edging. It has a thick rawhide back and what could be buffalo hide on the front. What is great is the patina on the back and throughout the piece and yet the beadwork is stunning. I identify it as Cheyenne due to the dragonfly designs on the face. The dragonfly was a great symbol of power for the Cheyenne and other tribes. They are fantastic. The knife also show patina and is typical of the Indian wars era knife,Note the indentions on the edge. The knife fits the sheath perfectly as does the stand. This is guaranteed to be 1890's and most likely is earlier. All original. E-mail with any questions and please look at my other Indian beaded items.
