This auction is for a vintage Chialu composition figure of an indian who is holding a bow and has been shot, and is clutching his chest. I don't think he ever had an arrow in his chest, I guess he was shot by a cowboy with a gun. I don't see any damage or repairs. The underside of the base is marked, "C.C. Milano." See my other auctions this week for 10 other Chialu figures up for sale. I thought I was going to collect the vintage composition Chialu cowboy and indian figures, but there is no space on the shelf for them so they have to go. Based on a bit of research I did, it appears that there was at first an Italian toy soldier company called "Confalonieri". Chialu succeeded that firm, continuing to use some of their molds as well as creating their own. There is pre-war and post-war production. If you want to do your own research (or just want an excuse to buy some gorgeous toy soldier books), look for these titles: Soldatini Italiani by Orazio di Mauro; Faccetta Nera by Gianni Maiotti (Italian toy soldiers 1936-1945); L'esercito di cartapesta (1933 -1960) by Gianni Maiotti; and my favorite "Confalonieri Chialu 1934-1967". Some you have to buy from Italy, others you can get in the U.S. (try Joseph Saine's excellent website). Some are English / Italian, some Italian only. I combine shipping on multiple purchases. Payment : All buyers, per eBay policy I can only accept PayPal as a payment method for all auctions. Payment is due within seven days from the end of the auction. If your payment is not received within this time period your order will be canceled and the item relisted. Handling time : I do my best to mail packages out the day after I get payment. If I receive payment before 9:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time (U.S.) I will have it in the mail the next day, except for Sunday because U.S. Post Offices are not open on Sunday. U.S. Shipping : I use First Class (up to 13 oz) and Priority mail after that. Books ship media mail. I only charge actual postage - no added fees. I combine multiple items won by the same person the same week and charge actual postage. I use lots of bubble wrap and peanuts and good boxes. In a group of multiple pieces each item is wrapped individually. When there is an original box or other original paper item I put that into a plastic bag in case you get delivery on a rainy day. International Shipping : I gladly ship international. I prefer to use Priority International mail because it is trackable. All Priority Packages are fully guaranteed. First Class International is available, but there is no tracking on First Class International packges. Also, please note that there can be lengthy delays at Customs. Per eBay rules, import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges -- these charges are the buyer's responsibility. Return Policy: Returns are accepted within 7 days, so long as item is returned in the condition that it was in when it was sold. If the item was misrepresented I will refund the postage both ways. If the item was not misrepresented, I will refund the purchase price only -- not the shipping paid to get it to you, or for you to return it. The following examples of misrepresentation are the only ones that qualify: statements about a specific, factual element of the toy: I said the item was vintage and/or original and it turns out to be a new repro, replica, reissue, copy, or fake. I said the item had no repairs and it turns out that it did indeed have repairs, repainting, or replaced parts. I said the item was definitely made by a specific company (like Elastolin, or Lineol, or Marklin, etc.), and it turns out that it was made by a different company.
