The Chief Joseph blanket is one of the oldest, on-going blankets made by Pendleton Woolen Mills. The blanket pattern celebrates the heroism of the Northwest's great Nez Perce leader, Chief Joseph. Its design is balanced with arrowheads symbolizing bravery and pointing in all directions of Mother Earth. The Chief Joseph is a woven jacquard that is reversible to offer two dramatically different looks. Made of 82% pure virgin wool and 18% cotton.

~LEGEND OF THE PENDLETON BLANKET~

During the end of the 19th Century, at a woolen mill in Pendleton, Oregon, the Pendleton Blanket legend was born. They began producing beautiful, eye-catching wool blankets with vivid colors and authentic designs for the Umatilla and Cayuse tribes in the Northwest. The popularity of the "Pendleton Blanket" spread to other tribes and settlers that were moving to the area. Tourists from the west and all over also purchased the blankets to take home for themselves and as souvenirs for family. Within the blanket holds a combination of beauty, quality, durability and superior warmth. Pendleton's blankets have a reputation for superb craftsmanship and quality which continues to be a hallmark of the Pendleton Blanket and other Pendleton Prod ucts .
