Precious little cream and sugar from a child's tea set. England, Charles Allerton Ltd 1885. Over 120 years old. They are about 5" and 3 1/4" high. Back stamps read May and Staffordshire as shown. May is out gathering her eggs in her apron and seems pleased with her results. These are not reproductions, nor have they been soaked in peroxide to make them appear pristine, but have been left in their original "played with by children" condition, which many think adds to their charm and vintage display. The sugar bowl does have a small chip on the edge above the handle (hard to photograph) along with some minor roughness and discoloration. The creamer also shows a little discoloration in places, nothing major. Otherwise they are just fine, no cracks in either one, and obviously no repairs. The top rims on each are slightly scalloped as opposed to a tea pot I am also listing that has a flat rim.. This is a real sweet set and a fine example of antique Staffordshire. What else can I tell you?
