ChildrenÂ's Pop-up Book Japanese Folk Hero Issun-boshi This is a one of a kind find. It is a childrenÂ's pop-up book that tells the story of the famous Japanese folk hero known as Issun-boshi . The book dates back to the pre WWII era of the Taisho/early Showa-Period (circa 1920-1940). While the story is written in Japanese, the wonderful pop-up illustrations tell the story perfectly. The book is 6 pages long, and like all Japanese books, it reads from what would be the back to the front if it were a western book. The book has a few tears and old repairs, but it is in pretty good condition considering its age. Please see the photos for a more accurate idea of its exact condition. The book measures 10.25 inches x 7.5 inches. I have also listed another similar childrenÂ's pop-up book chronicling the adventures of the Japanese folk hero Momotaro . If you happen to win more than one of my listings, I am more than happy to combine shipping in order to save you money on shipping charges.
