This is a rare and seldom encountered Chilean Customs / Police Sword and dates from the late 19th to early 20th Century. It is mounted with a quillback blade that measures 31 1/4 inches in length which remains in very good condition with only minor surface stains. Although now faded, the nice etching on one side of the blade can still be made out and reads "POLICIA FISCAL CHILE". The steel basket cup is a bit weatd, however wears a nice Chilean crest upon the face and frames a wooden grip that also reflects wear but does remain tightly in place. The leather scabbard is tattered near the drag, however remains supple and in good serviceable condition. Overall measuring 37 1/4 inches in length. T is no reserve.
