An unusual Chinese famille verte children vase of four sided form with bulging middle body and five applied children depicted clinging to the vase in various positions - one depicted sitting at one base corner of the vase in a composed manner and the one standing on the vase's shoulder holds an ingot in his left hand; their faces and hands are unglazed and covered with transparent washes. The vase's exterior surface decorated all around with clusters of various leafy and flowering branches against a solid ground of light turquoise green. Very thickly potted of a fine white porcelain body (see photos 11 & 12) with flat cut foot rim and unmarked bottom. Dimensions: about 8 1/2" tall x 4" wide at mid body (approx. 21,60cm x 10,20cm). Net weight of about 2 pounds & 3 ounces. Condition: Damages on the child sitting at the base corner of the vase (appears knocked off and glued back in place) and the climbing child immediately above him is missing the lower portion of his left leg (see photos 8 & 9). A spot of potter defect on the yellow molded border around the middle body (photo # 2) and a glazing imperfection of a blackish streak on the lower portion of one side of the vase (see photos 5 & 6) and a long chip to the inner side of the foot rim (see photos 11 & 12); otherwise the vase is very good overall. Age: Unknown. Possibly Kang-hsi, but prospective bidders to decide. Provenance: property of a local collector/dealer. Shipping: USPS priority mail with insurance. Many thanks for checking out this special offer. Good luck with your bidding/treasure hunting.
