This photograph measures just over 11" by just under 9". It is lifting from the mount a little causing a little bounce but it is in very good condition. The mount is embossed with A Fong Hong Kong. A Fong seems to have been active between 1860-1890 but the photograph is undated and came with a number from 1919 so more research might be needed. To the left of A Fong there are two crests, one with "oni soit qui mal y pense" and a crown above, and the name Sir Arthur Kennedy KCB, a governor of Hong Kong. The other is a the Russian double headed eagle with a crown above and the words HIH the Grand Duke Alexis. To the right of A Fong there is a mans head facing left with the words "Albert Edward Prince of Wales Executive President" visible. Next to it is a further circle which says "Colonial and Indian Exhibition 1886" Sorry not to be more specific- that is the best I can do even with a magnifying glass.I am unsure what event is happening. There seems to be a band to the centre and the white smoke to the rear suggests some sort of salute but beyond that I don't know.I am selling a number of similarly sized photographs of sporting events in Hong KongPosted with eBay Mobile
