A fine Chinese porcelain Jar painted with overglaze enamels in shades of green, pink, black and iron-red with traditional Chinese Motif. The scene “meeting of the spring” is a farmer’s holiday, and powerful animal like OX will repress the evil spirits that disturb the lakes, rivers and seas, and it will bring an abundant season. T he clothing is painted with some care; each has dress of different colors with detailed design. It has been only in last twenty years that many people have come to realize that the figures seen on most Chinese porcelain are usually, if not always, part of some scene that tells a story, and the story is quite often of some symbolic significance. There are Chinese symbols on the other side of the vase. Qing Dynasty Measurements: Height 29 cm Conditions: In good condition with no chips or restoration but fine line on the rim; glaze shows normal period imperfections and signs of use as is expected for the age.
