This is alovely piece carved from solid jade. The jade itself is a bright white with vivid threads of apple green jade. T are two fish at the side of the bowl. The fish are thought to represent superfluity or abundance and when found in pairs are indicative of a harmonious relationship especially of a marital or sexual nature. This piece could be displayed or used as a scholars' or artists' brush wash.
