From A Straus Family Estate Own a Piece of History Today !! First, we want to thank EBay for allowing us to offer to the general public some of our Straus Family Estate Items which we will be listing in the coming weeks. Prior to the passing of June Hookey Straus; I never understood what a task I had accepted to assist my husband Jonathan Oliver Straus, to divest so many of the historically important Straus Family Object's d' Art that his family had collected over their many years as both art collectors and retail merchants. It took us over 13 years to collect and attempt to sort out which items had come from which estates as we unpacked. The items being offered in these auctions will whenever possible be attributed to the original owners and a Certificate of Authenticity provided with each item. The items these estates come from are The Isidor Straus Estate, The Ida Blun Straus Estate, The Herbert N. Straus Estate, The Tsa Kuhn Straus Estate, The Oliver Herbert Straus Estate, The June Hookey Straus Estate and lastly, the Collection of Object's d' Art from The Jonathan Oliver Straus Collection. My husband is Jonathan Oliver Straus owner of Nemesis II Gallery; formerly in NYC, now on EBay. He is great-great grandson of Isidor & Ida Blun Straus who together went down on the Titanic. Contrary to popular beliefs; his great grandmother did not give her maid any jewelry, instead she gave her fur coat to maid's which she felt would be more useful while awaiting rescue on that frigid evening. When his great-great mother's (Ida Blun Straus) estate was settled; she left $260,000.00 in personal property to be divided among her seven children. Herbert N. Straus, my husband's grandfather acquired many Object's d' Art from their Paris warehouse. We were fortunate enough to be able to get a confirmation of this when we lived in Paris through a Straus Family lawyer than at Coudert Brothers. Please feel free to email us if you have any questions and Bid with Confidence !! Oliver Herbert Straus was the son of Herbert Straus, President of Macys who died at his desk at the age of 33 and the Grandson of Isidor Straus who went down with his beloved wife Ida on the Titanic ...
