ATTENTION COLLECTORS! NO RESERVE AUCTION!UP FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION IS THIS OLD CHINESE BRONZE AND JADE HARDSTONE SWORD/DAGGER, THE POMMEL AND GUARD ARE WHAT APPPEAR TO BE NEPHRITE JADE OR SOME TYPE OF HARDSTONE AND THE BLADE AND HANDLE APPEAR TO BE A BRONZE METAL, SO PLEASE BID ACCORDINGLY. WE HAVE NOT CLEANED THIS ITEM. THERE IS SOME OXIDATION ON THE BLADE AND HANDLE. THE BLADE HAS SYMBOLS ON ONE SIDE AND BLANK ON THE OTHER SIDE. THE GUARD APPEARS TO BE SOME TYPE OF MYTHICAL BEAST. PLEASE LOT AT ALL PHOTOS FOR CLOSE UP DETAIL. MEASURES APPROX 16" INCHES LONG, THE BLADE IS APPROX 10 1/2" X 1 1/2" WEIGHS APPROX 1 LB 3 OZS We have been commissioned to sell on behalf of an estate with a lifetime collection of chinese jade and artifacts. This private collection is from an american businessman who resided in Idaho. Because of the size of this collection the owner is unable to get an appraisal or authenticate these pieces.We have tested each piece on our presidium gem tester & those that have tested jadeite are stated as such. These jadeite pieces have not been certified. The others that we refer to as nephrite hardstone jade have tested in the tourmaline area which is also considered to be Nephrite. Nephrite jade is known to come in all different colors.The dating of Asian works of art is very difficult & opinions of Authenticity vary
