This is a wonderful turn of the century circa 1900 High Relief Chinese Ivory carving. I measures 15 inches tall and about 3 1/4 inches at the widest part of the base cap. T are carved signs on the bottom I would take as a signature. see pics. This appears to be the first 15 inches of a tusk. The weight is substantial 3 pounds 12 oz.or just under 4 lbs. The carving is of the finest you will see. It appears to be an old Chinese man or God in robes and carrying a staff. The front is decorated with flowers. Very tight crack bottom front, shown in pics. No repairs or other problems. These early pieces are highly sought after and a wonderful asian collectible that should increase in value as the supply of these old pieces diminishes.
