What you are bidding on is a Chinese cloisonne incense burner from the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644). The incense burner is done in bronze in the Chou Kingdom style. Cloisonne is an elegant and exquisite art form that exhibits wonderful style, rich patterns and vivid color. The manufacturing process is sophisticated and extensive. Cloisonne is a unique art form that originated in Beijing during the Yuan Dynasty (1271 - 1368). In the period titled 'Jingtai' during the Ming Dynasty, the emperor who was very much interested in bronze-casting techniques, improved the color process, and created the bright blue that appealed to the oriental aesthetic sense. The incense burner is in excellent condition except two tips (see photo) are missing from the cover. We only have one of the tips. The tip is inside the incense burner. The stand is carved from rosewood. The stand has a small crack. Certificate of authenticity is included. (see photo).We accept PayPal (immediate shipping).
