Reverse Glass Painting DESCRIPTION This work of art is an Authentic Reverse Glass Painting. This incredible Reverse Glass Painting is among the pieces we acquired during our travels throughout Asia. Instead of using canvas or paper, this artist possesses the unique ability to create an extraordinarily detailed piece of work on the backside of a piece of glass. Usually, paintings of such quality begin with broad outlines and shapes, with the artist eventually making the piece come to life with the final detailing. However, this piece was first created with those intricate details and worked backwards to create this final painting. Absolutely incredible! It looks as if the glass is resting on top of the artwork, when in fact the glass actually is the artwork! This painting is a portrait of the CHINESE EMPEROR in his early years. His feet are openly displayed from under his robe as a sign of power. The collection of portraits of the Emperor and Empress, both young and old, are all up for auction. This piece is framed with a hand-made wooden frame and backing, and adorned with a brass decorative hook to proudly and securely display this piece. SIZE This piece measures about 15" tall and 10 ¾" wide, including frame. The brass hook measures another 1 ¼" tall. SHIPPING Winning bidder please add $12.80 shipping and handling within the USA.
