Up for auction is a fine set of Tai-Ching-Ti-Kuo Silver Dragon Dollars. Recently acquired from a fine old estate. The set contains the following 1908 Pei Yang 34th year of “Kuang Hsu” coin... weighs 26grams on my scale (some soiling and a red mark on back, would benefit from a cleaning) 1904 Kiang-Nan Province 30th Year of “Kuang Hsu” coin.... weighs 26 grams on my scale. Overall nice detailedcoin marked HAH & CH. Slight wear to outside edges around dragon. Dragon is nice. 1908 Central Mint 34th Year of “ Kuang Hsu” coin .... weighs 26 grams on my scale. Overall a nice coin with nice detail. 1911 Central Mint 3rd year of “Hsuen Tung” coin..... weighs 26 grams on my scale. Overall a very nice coin. Great detail. The coins have a thin hard yellow plastic / bakelite? holder which has English on one side and Chinese writing on the other. The coins simply press into their openings and remain there. The two 1908 coins do not hold their position. The yellow coin holder has a clear 2 piece hard plastic case which simply presses together to protect the coins. The clear plastic cover has a small crack, a few scratches and some tape residue. There is also a fold out pamphlet which came with the set which appears to give the specifications of each coin in this set and the specs on The Republic of China Silver Dollars Set.
