This is a beautiful example of an early Chinese button. A thinly stamped silver butterfly has been enameled in great detail with vibrant colors. To finish the button a dangling ball of red agate or Aventurine has been attached to the butterfly with both a top and bottom fancy silver cap of matching enamel. The butterfly measures 11/16ths inch wide and 1/2" top to bottom. The button is in very fine condition. It has not been cleaned I will leave that to the new owner.
