An attractive group of various Chineseexport blue and white decorated porcelain collectibles, 18th century description: This is an interesting group of various antique porcelain objects, hand decorated in blue under glaze on white, originating from China. These delicate items were made for the export market to Europe and are mainly dating to the 18th century. Most of them were made during the reign of the emperors KangXi and QianLong. Chinese porcelain was traded by the Dutch East Indies Company (VOC), which had special commercial privileges to Japan (Decima Island) and China. The wealthy Dutch merchants loved the subtle Chinese porcelain and large quantities were shipped to Holland in the 17th and 18th centuries. It is known that the Chinese factories reserved their best quality porcelain for export, thus pleasing their European customers. Although manufactured to be used, most of this Oriental porcelain was kept in collections and displayed in special China cabinets in European distinguished houses. This group of Chinese blue and white collectibles consists of a box, 2 bowls and 6 saucers, some matching. The condition of these objects is described accurately below:1. A rectangular porcelain box, possibly a brush pot, decorated on the outside with bird patterns in diaper reserves, measuring 97 x 64 x 67 mm. It is in excellent condition. This high quality piece shows traces of considerable age, but I find it difficult to date this exactly. It might have been covered previously. 2. A single scalloped saucer has an attractive decoration of oriental people in a landscape. It is unmarked and dating to the Kangxi period. Measuring 101 mm across, it is in good condition with a very short faint glaze hairline and some light rim frittings.3. Another single saucer has an elaborate decoration of blossoming flowers. It is marked with a symbol mark in concentric circles and dating to the Kangxi period. Measuring 124 mm across, it is in perfect condition.4. A matching pair of deep saucers is decorated with a pattern of three plants. Both little plates have rim frits/small chips, both have a faint rim hairline.Their dimensions are: 91 mm ( 3 5/8inches) 5. A pair of matching tea bowls and saucers. The saucers have a central decoration of stylized flowers within a rim featuring floral designs. The bowls are decorated alike, standing 1,6 '' (33 mm) high and is 60 mm wide. The saucers measure 3 7/8 inches (97 mm) across. Both bowls and saucers are in good condition, with some occasional rim fritting needing to be mentioned for accuracy. These interesting objects originate from a Dutch private collection. Please view the pictures, which give a good impression of the condition and the quality of these lovely objects. I guarantee age (18th century) and authenticity of these beautiful collectors items.
