An interesting group of Chinese Imari export porcelain collectibles, 18th century description: This is an attractive group of various antique Imari porcelain objects, originating from China. Dark blue color is painted under the glaze, while the iron red, pink and gilt decoration is applied over the glaze. These lovely objects were made for the export market to Europe and are dating to the beginning and middle of the 18th century (Kangxi and Qianlong periods). Imari porcelain was often traded by the Dutch East Indies Company (VOC), which had special trading privileges to Japan (Decima Island) and China. The wealthy Dutch upper class adored the subtle Imari porcelain and large quantities were shipped to Holland in the 17th and 18th centuries. Although manufactured to be used, most of this Oriental porcelain was displayed in special China cabinets in distinguished houses. This group of Imari collectibles consists of five saucer dishes and four tea bowls, as accurately described below. - A pair of two high chocolate bowls, standing 74 mm (2 7/8 inches) high, and measuring 80 mm across. These rare bowls are in good condition, one having a small and faint rim hairline, the other one having some rim frittings. - A Kangxi period saucer, measuring c. 5,5 inch (138 mm) decorated with various patterns in shaped reserves. (hardly noticeable rim frits of needlepoint size) - A fine pair of molded and scalloped saucers, decorated with a central motif of an abundant flower bowl, measuring 131 mm across. (one light rim chip) - Two various tea bowls painted with floral patterns. The small one measures 65 mm across, the bigger one measures 72 mm across, while standing40 mm high. (both in perfect condition) - A single saucer is painted with an ornate garden pattern. This attractive saucer measures 120 mm wide and has and old rim repair at 11 o'clock. - Another single saucer is painted with floral patterns in shaped reserves. It measures 107 mm and is in perfect condition. Please view the pictures, which give a good impression of the condition of these lovely objects. I decided to sell them in the condition as found, originating from a Dutch private estate. This group displays very nicely. I guarantee age (early and mid 18th century) and authenticity of these highly decorative collector's items. Please note that the display stands, visible on some pictures, are not included in this auction. Shipping and payment: I will ship worldwide.
