Antique Chinese Blue & White Nanking 3 Piece Tureen Set! Chinese Export Porcelain Nanking 3 Piece Tureen, c.1790 18 th C Large Blue & White Tureen w/ Boars Head Qianlong 18th Century- Qianlong Dynasty
This is an 18th Century Chinese Export Porcelain Nanking Boars Head Three Piece Tureen Set. The Set includes beautiful large soup tureen with boars head handles, cover (lid) with Lotus bud finial, and original stand (under-basin/ plate); the set is oblong form and octagonal in shape with cut corners. The modeling, painting, and glaze are very well done in traditional white background with light blue cast, and decorated with brilliant dark blue handpainted design. The reserves are finely decorated with Riverscape Scene décor - an extensive river landscape including various figures and pavilions. The composite borders around the rims are enriched with flower sprays interspersed with ruyi -heads, and the lower border with a narrow trellis pattern border enriched with flower sprays. The insides and underside bottoms are glazed; the rim feet are unglazed. Dimensions (in inches): 9.8 Tall X 14.4 Wide X 11.0 Deep. Weight is 10 Lbs. 14.0 Oz. The estimated date is la te 18th Century, circa 1790, Qianlong Dynasty (1736-1795) . Condition: no apparent repairs or restorations; o n one end of the tureen, the boars head handle has two ¼ inch losses at the tips of the ears. T are 7 shallow glaze losses on the under-basin/ plate along the outside edge rim, and 5 at ¼ inch diameter; 2 at 3/8 inches diameter. T is a line crack 6 inches long on the inside of the tureen bottom, the line is very tight. T is minor wear including lines and fretting, and imperfections from the original making- including small glaze losses, and firing flaws. (please see photos). Sold as is, as described.
