This CHINESE EXPORT SILVER CONDIMENT SET is stunning. T are eight pieces, with five ceramic liners. Four pots have hinged lids, the other four are open, and all are decorated with handbeaten silver borders and motifs that fall squarely into Arts & Crafts territory. Take note of the small ornament at the hinges; it looks to me like a stylized Chinese cloud. Please look at all the photos, below. Measurements: The open pots are 1 11/16" across the top, 1" high, and about 1 7/8" across at their widest point. The lidded pods are 1 3/4" across the top, 1 1/2" high including the ball finial, and about 1 7/8" across at their widest point. All the bottoms have shallow dings, and some have deeper dents, but the sides and tops are in great condition overall. Three of the four lids don't sit perfectly flat. I don't think the liners are the originals; they don't match, and three of them are in "as is" condition. I believe this is an unusual set, a true find for a collector.
