Set of Three (3)Two (2) Footed Bud Vases & One (1) Footed CupChinese Export SilverbyWang Hing & Co.Circa Late 19th to Early 20th CenturyThis beautiful three piece set of Chinese export silver consisting of two footed bud vases and one footed cup are an excellent example of the fine workmanship of Wang Hing & Co. silversmiths, perhaps one of the best known producers of fine Chinese export silver ever known, which operated out of Canton from the 1840's until operations were moved to Hong Kong in the 1920's, where they operated until Hong Kong fell in the Japanese invasion of 1941. All three pieces feature a dragon motif & are stamped "WH" & "90" on the bottom, with a total combined weight of approximately 115 grams. The shorter, footed cup rests on three ball feet, measuring approximately 41mm tall x 50mm in diameter at the lip. The pierced metal design suggests there was once a glass insert. The design features the "pearl of life" represented by a disc, with a Chinese dragon, it's body wrapping around the cup as it pursues the Pearl of Life through the clouds. In addition to the Wang Hing initials "WH" & "90", the bottom of this piece is stamped with a Chinese character. Both of the taller bud vases stand on three (3) feet. One has solid, un-pierced sides.
