This is an early 1900 piece of jewelry of Chinese Export Silver as marked in pic 7. It could be a little earlier than this. Can't describe the beauty & rareness of this bracelet. The raised relief designs on each of the 8 panels is excellent. it would need to be cleaned if one wished. Someone at some point may have tried to clean. Looks like some white residue on backgroup UR panel 1, UL panel 2, little on some of the other panels. I am sure this can be cleaned up. Each of the 8 panels depict Chinese Characters riding on an animal. Elephant, donkey, lion, ox, tiger antelope or deer. Each character is different & holding an item, flute, pipe, etc, some have beards, others clean shaven. One looks like monk with fat belly. There is also etching work on the piece. Each link is about 1" in width & 1 1/4" in height. The closure is metal tab that slides into opening on other end. I showed in pictures 8,9,10 this opening area. Panel 1 is where it is located & end border has seperated & there is a tiny narrow metal piece on figure that is broken. Picture 8 & 9 show this. Picture 10 shows opening end view. The tab still fits into this closure. Its truly a great looking bracelet & there may be some animal symbolism as to different animals. Elephant is happiness, deer, wealth, long life Tiger courage, bravery Ox harbinger of death. Very UNIQUE. Could the figures be the 8 IMORTALES who crossed the sea. Fable from China.
