A LARGE AND COMPLETE, CHINESE EXPORT STERLING SILVER TEA SERVICE OF 4 PIECES WITH KETTLE ON STAND + BURNER, TEAPOT, SUGAR AND CREAMER. ALL PIECES ARE EXCEPTIONALLY WELL REPOUSSED WITH A DRAGON MOTIF AND MADE BY KL (GUANG LI) OF SHANGHAI C.1900 The large kettle is very well repoussed with 2 large and VERY WELL DETAILED full figured dragons ( these cover the whole body of the kettle). The swing handle and spout is designed to simulate bamboo as are the 4 feet. The finial is of a 3 dimensional dragon's head which is cleverly joined to the well repoussed dragon's body (on the lid). The kettle stand is designed to simulate criss cross bamboo and has a central spirit burner which when lit will heat the water. The kettle sits nicely on the stand and when removed from the stand sits comfortably on its 4 bamboo form legs. The teapot, sugar bowl and creamer each have 2 very well detailed, large, full figured repoussed dragons chasing the magic pearl.(this is w the owner could engrave his or her initials). The dragons cover whole body of each piece and continue under and around the handles. The handles, spout and finial is of a bamboo motif. The detailing on all the repousse work is excellent with the features, scaly body and clawed feet being top quality. Additionally it is nice to find such a large service all by the same maker.
