An attractive group of various Chinese export porcelain tea bowls and saucers, decorated in blue, YongZheng period, early 18th century description: On offer is this attractive group of various antique Chinese porcelain bowls (4) and saucers (5), hand decorated under glaze in blue on milky white. These attractive objects show different designs. All saucers are decorated with oriental people in different positions, including courtisanes and acrobats. All saucers measure about c. 120 mm (c. 4,75 inches) across. All saucers have some rim imperfections and/or old repairs, in some cases a rim chip has an associated short hairline. Although their condition leaves something to be desired, these items are beautifully decorated and display very nicely.Four tea bowls are standing 40 mm high, measuring 70 mm across. These are painted with oriental people in a landscape. One bowl is perfect, two have a hardly visible short hairline. One bowl is distressed and repaired. This interesting group displays very nicely. Please view the pictures, which give a good impression of the quality and the condition of the objects. These subtle saucers were made in China during the first decades of the 18th century. The patterns which were used, indicate that they were made in the late Kangxi (Kang Hsi) or the YongZheng period. Many of these Chinese products were exported to Europe. Oriental porcelain was imported to Holland by the Dutch East Indies Company (VOC), which had special trading privileges to China and Japan. The wealthy Dutch upper class adored the exquisite oriental porcelain and large quantities were shipped to Holland in the 17th and 18th centuries. Dutch China Trade ware was accumulated in private collections and kept in families during many generations. Overcrowded porcelain cabinets were the pride of many affluent Dutch families. This group originates from a private estate from The Netherlands. Please note that the display stands visible on some pictures are not included in this auction. I guarantee age (early 18th century) and authenticity of these highly decorative collector's items.
