Having just had to empty a bank vault of my deceased aunt's stocks/shares I have come across a number of these beautifull pieces. I have documented evidence tracing them back to 1951 where they are listed by her London stockbroker in a number of documents. I am continuing to search through the mound of paperwork to find the original purchase receipt. They have then been in the vault in a box for the last 40 years. I can show what evidence I have if required, let me assure you, they are This being the case, they are in really good condition. There is a small blue number stamp to the top right of the bond. I have identified this as being the account number of our London brokers, were the the bonds were stored at. I would imagine that it would not be to difficult to remove with specialist techniques . Otherwise a tiny bit of wear around the edges but not much (see pictures) There are 43 stamps on every one, all in great condition as well. Having read up a bit, they were produced by the best engraver in London at the time Waterlow & Sons and really are beautifull. They measure 33cm x 45.72.There are 3 beautifull designs, with the central one being an image of the god mercury seated on a bale with steamships in the background pertaining to China's future economic status.There have been multiple class action lawsuits recently to have these read more
