Beautiful Chinese Jin Dy (1115-1234) CiZhou Kiln Porcelain Plum Bottle Wine pot. It is called a plum bottle because of its small mouth, short neck, plumpy shoulder and thin bottom. It has been a wine ware since its birth about Tang Dynasty Period to Ming Dynasty. After that period it has been used mainly for home furnishings. Height: 36.5CM/14.37 Inches Length: 16CM/ 6.30 Inches The vase is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. There are some rough imperfections on the outside rim of the base, perhaps done in the firing. CIZHOU PORCELAIN The sites of Cizhou Kiln are scattered in Guantai and Fengfeng within Handan Prefecture. Cizhou Kiln is an outstanding representative in North China during the Sang Dynasty, which enjoys more than 1,400 years history. The major mines are existing now in Pengcheng. The porcelain articles produced by the Cizhou Kiln are painted with black and white pictures: of figures, birds, beasts, insects, fish and Landscapes. Porcelain articles produced in the Cizhou Kiln in the past have been widely collected both at home band abroad. The colour paintings on the porcelain articles are of epoch-making importance.As early as the Northern and Southern Dynasties (420-589) celadon ware was first produce in Cizhou (now Pengcheng). In the Northern Song Dynasty(960-1127), a variety of refined porcelain articles were produced in Cizhou, which were favorable compared with those produced in Jingdezhen at that time. In the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) the ceramic industry t developed to its highest prosperity. Now, t are up to a thousand variety of porcelain produced in Cizhou, including art porcelain, daily use porcelain, garden porcelain, and imitation Song porcelain, etc, which are exported to over 50 countries or regions in five continents. The technology of the Cizhou porcelain is extremely refined, a combination of porcelain with painting and sculpture, with a very high value of art and usefulness.
