Staffordshire red transfer platter, 19 1/4" by 15", with scalloped edge in the rare pattern "Chinese Juvenile Sports", maker unknown, C.1835. The central scene shows three children in elaborate oriental dress playing games near a tiled wall. Exotic oriental buildings and mountains complete the picture. Beautiful border of overscaled flowers. Excellent condition, no chips, cracks, hairlines, repairs or crazing. Moderate surface wear. In-the-making pinpoint glaze pops, mentioned only for complete accuracy. A wonderful, large red platter in a rare pattern!
