Chinese Late Qing (late 1800s) Cloisonné Pair ofVases Wonderful pair of hand crafted matching cloisonné vases. These vases are extremely well crafted, so much so that the wonderful bird and cherry blossom scenes are near duplicates. The quality is also evident in the heavy brass construction. The background is the classic higher end white with cloud design. The scene consists of a brown cherry branch in full blossom. A Brown Booby pair sits on the branch adoring each other in spring. The bottom of the vase is bounded in a fine blue scalloped band and the top by a green, blue and red serif design. Based on the style, quality, interior oxidation and lack of markings these were made in the 1880s or early 1890s. The vases are in perfect condition and have been professionally cleaned on the exterior. The heavy oxidation expected on these older pieces remains in the vase interiors. A fine matching pair of late 1800s cloisonné vases that would enhance any Chinese collection. Dimensions: Height 4 inches (10 cm), Diameter (widest point) 2 1/2 inches (6.5 cm), Foot Diameter 1 5/8 inches (4.2 cm), Rim Diameter 1 11/16 inches (4.3 cm).
