I am slashing the price because I really need to sell this; my horrible loss is you gain. Up for auction is an exquisite lavender, and black, "A" Type jadeite beaded necklace that is a masterfully carved work of art. Lavender jade is one of the most sought after colors of jade by collectors. This 64 bead, 6 ring, hand crafted strand features 6 intricately carved lavender jade beads, 58 black jade beads, 6 seamless jade rings, and a carved lavender pendant framed by a "black" jade border. The lovely clasp and gold accents are 14kt gold.
The carving appears to depict a dragon, or possibly another creature with scales, it's hard to tell, but a good cleaning may reveal the artist's subject. Held over a light source, the jade is beautifully translucent displaying a lovely lavender glow. On the reverse side only are some "veins", or hairline fissures that according to the experts only serve to confirm it's age and authenticity.
The pictures truly do not do it justice and do not show it's uniform pale, yet rich, lavender color. The pictures make it appear lighter than it is, so forgive my photography. This masterpiece measures 26 inches long unclasped and clasped the circumference is 14 1/4 inches. The pendant measures 1 3/4 inches tall and 1 1/4 inches wide. The oval carving it's self measures 1 1/2" tall x 3/4" wide. All measurements are approximate.
PLEASE DO NOT MISS OUT because this may be your only opportunity to purchase an a type jade piece at such an unforgivably low price, but I am starting quite low because I am not including any documentation, but rest assured that it has been evaluated by a reputable Washington, DC jeweler. Compare this to other comparable jade pieces, if you can find them, and you will agree that the price is very reasonable.
