QIANJIANGSTYLE COVERED DISH Origin : Jingdezhen, China. Age : Guangxu/Republic Period, late 19th/early 20 th Century. Size (including stand) : 3.5âe high, 7.25âe wide (8.5cm high, 17.5cm wide). Design : Low straight sided circular dish with cover, painted in the Qianjiang enamel style with ladies in a garden and inscribed with black enamel calligraphy. Qianjiang enamel painting is softer and flat, with no tonal variation as opposed to standard fencai/famille rose enamels. Mark : Calligraphic inscription to the lid and one side. Materials/techniques : High fired porcelain, overglaze enamel colours in Qianjiang palette. Condition : Excellent condition, with some old wear from use, and frits (small kiln blow-outs) to the footrim from the firing. Slightly ill-fitting lid. No chips, cracks or restoration.
